Warhol is known primarily for his paintings and mixed media artwork, but he was also a photographer. Recently, some of his works were up for auction via “Andy Warhol @ Christie’s: Best in Show. “ The collection features “animal-inspired works by the master of Pop Art.” Warhol photographed all types of animals from horses to monkeys to eagles, but mostly dogs. Who could blame him? People today make their dogs their own social media accounts. So why wouldn’t a prominent artist see a reason to photograph them?
